Hurt Less.

Move Better.

Go Further.

Your body has something to say.

Let's actually listen.

You've probably already tried the obvious things. Physical therapy. Chiropractic. Massage. Yoga. Stretching. Maybe all of it.

And yet the shoulder still catches. The same side always feels different. The old injury never fully resolved. Or you've just hit a ceiling you can't explain, even though you've been doing the work.

There's a reason. And it's not that you haven't tried hard enough.

Most approaches work on the symptom, the structure, or the outcome. This method works on the brain patterns underneath.

That's neuroplasticity in action, and it's also why lasting change is possible at any age.

Move better by working WITH your system — not against it.

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • You want to understand what your body is doing, not just override it and push through.

  • You wake up stiff and it takes a while before your body feels usable.

  • You've been doing yoga, dancing, or training for years and one side still feels completely different from the other, no matter how much you work on it.

  • An old injury still limits what you can do and you’ve started to accept it as “just how it is.”

  • You have body awareness. You meditate, you stretch, you listen. And something still feels disconnected or stuck that you can't quite name.

  • You’ve tried physical therapy, stretching, massage, or more. It helps... but the relief doesn’t last.

  • You used to hike, work in the yard, or stay active without thinking twice. Now you hesitate.

  • Your teacher, your PT, even your chiropractor can see what's happening but can't seem to fix it at the source.

  • Your body isn't keeping up with the life you've built. Yet you know you're capable of more.

  • You don’t want to be told to just “rest more.” You want to move well again.

There’s a reason nothing has stuck.

Most approaches work on muscles, joints, or structure. They treat the part that hurts, not the system running it.

Your movement is controlled by your brain. Every pattern of tension, compensation, and restriction you carry was learned. Because the brain is neuroplastic, it can learn something new. That's not a metaphor. It's what the neuroscience shows.

Feldenkrais works directly with this capacity. Through gentle, precise movement and directed attention, you give your nervous system new information. The brain updates its map. The body follows - not because something was forced, but because something was learned.

That's why people often walk out of their first session moving more easily. Not fixed. Changed.

Increase in ankle range of motion.

That's not the result of weeks of physical therapy or months of stretching. That's from ONE 60-minute one-on-one session.

The brain learned a new movement pattern in a single session. Neuroplasticity doesn't require weeks. It requires the right conditions. And, that's what this work creates.

Learn to work WITH your system not against it

This is a way of retraining how you move so your body works with less strain and more efficiency.

Through gentle, precise movement, you begin to discover better options — improving coordination, reducing effort, and often relieving pain.

You’re not pushing or forcing change. You’re giving your body a chance to move differently.

Instead of managing symptoms, this approach changes the patterns that create them — so the same issues don’t keep returning.

Most people leave their first session moving more easily, with less tension and more control.

Because when you learn a better way to move, your body can keep using it.

Whether you're recovering from surgery, stuck in a movement plateau, or a performer wanting to move with more precision and less effort: the approach is the same.

Give the brain better information, and the body follows.

This is neuroscience-informed movement.

It's gentle on the outside, deep on the inside.

About Serena...

Serena Cofer is a Guild-Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner® — the field’s highest professional credential, requiring over 800 hours of intensive, hands-on training. She graduated from the Feldenkrais Training Academy in Seattle (2022) and completed advanced training through IOPS in 2025.

She has been practicing since 2020.

Outside of her practice, Serena stays active through hiking, gardening, and social dance. She understands firsthand the importance of having a body that can support the life you want to live.

She works with a range of clients: from those recovering from surgery or managing various injuries to wellness enthusiasts looking for the layer other approaches haven't reached.

Serena works with people who want more than temporary relief. Her clients are often looking to understand what’s actually driving their limitations so they can resolve the issue at its source. Her approach is precise, evidence-informed, and tailored to each individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution.

Her approach is informed by the neuroscience of movement learning and neuroplasticity: the understanding that the brain can create new patterns at any age, and that lasting physical change starts there.

Her path to this work began with a personal need — supporting her oldest son in managing rheumatoid arthritis, while also searching for a more meaningful and sustainable career. Through the Feldenkrais Method®, both she and her son experienced significant physical improvements. For Serena, that included the unexpected resolution of long-standing shoulder pain that had persisted for years.

That experience shaped how she works today: not focused on quick fixes, but on helping people create real, lasting change in how their bodies function.

She works with clients in person in both Davis & Salt Lake County, Utah, and virtually with clients anywhere.
